Sick of boring Tinder dates? Not sure how to take your “thing” to the next level? If so, this post is for you.
Nothing says romance like home cooking a meal for that special someone. It sets the tone, shows that you aren’t just a pretty face, and lets that person know just how much you truly value them. However, even if you cook a dish Gordon Ramsay would drool over, the music has to be right or the entire night will be a massive flop.
Just throwing on “Spotify Top 40” won’t get the job done. The music NEEDS to match the mood. You need the perfect playlist during each of the steps of the evening. The perfect vibe for prepping, cooking, eating, and for whatever comes after. That’s where we come in. We’ve found the perfect in-house dinner date Spotify playlist for your next romantic evening.
This playlist starts off super jazzy, with lots of influence from the Rat Pack era. If you start the night off with Come Fly With Me by the one and only Frank Sinatra, you are truly setting the tone for the evening. The second the first note is played, your special someone will know that you mean business. From there it flows through some traditional French music, and some French/Jazz fusion with Canada’s very own Snarky Puppy. If you time it just right, you should be sitting down to eat just as Frank’s iconic song, One for My Baby comes on.
"The second the first note is played, your special someone will know that you mean business.”
From there, the playlist transitions into some jazzy tunes that don’t have lyrics allowing you and that special someone to have uninterrupted conversations. You’ll have amazing melodies in the background as you hear iconic songs like Take Five by Dave Brubeck, or songs that sound like they could be found in some Parisian speakeasy like Keep You Kimi by Hird. Then just as you’re wrapping up that delicious dinner and throwing your dishes into the sink to deal with tomorrow, you’ll be blessed with some silky lyrics that will undoubtedly set the mood for the rest of the night.
The playlist wraps up with some modern melodies featuring artists such as DVSN, Ben Howard, John Legend, Hozier, Khalid, Ed Sheeran, Billy Eilish, and more. However, hopefully by this point you’re no longer focusing on the music and just letting it continue to set the mood for your romantic evening. Make sure to hit that “autoplay” feature on Spotify so you can forget about dealing with the aux, and just let us continue to set the mood for The Occasion.
You’re welcome.
