Homecoming

Ahhh homecoming. Debatably the single greatest day of the year in Kingston, Ontario closely followed by Kingston Ribfest (ngl). However, here at The Occasion we’ve noticed that the Queen’s Community tends to not put much focus on the music due to being overly focused on the “socializing.” See, that scares us. We’re worried we’re only going to see one of two things on Saturday. We're either expecting Engineers singing:

With that being said, here at The Occasion, we’ve decided to save homecoming with our kick-ass homecoming playlist. While our first two playlists were structured to be played from start to finish, the playlist below is designed to be shuffled through so you can still just focus on drinki.. er.. socializing.

Like we said, this playlist is a one stop shop. We’ve got everything from pop throwbacks, to head-banging rock, to the hottest hip-hop around right now, and yes, of course we have Mr. Brightside. While we hit multiple genres, our goal is to have songs that you and everyone around you will be able to sing along to.

This playlist has BANGERS like Sicko Mode, XO Tour Lif3, Jackie Chan, Taste, and No Brainer. We’ve ALSO got the throwbacks covered like Gold digger, Pon De Replay, Best I Ever Had, and Hips Don’t Lie. We couldn’t not show you a few new tracks to keep the crowd guessing such as the Jack Novak remix of the Arkells Leather Jacket, or the Zedd remix of Lost in Japan by Shawn Mendes. We couldn’t add it to the playlist due to it not being on Spotify, but we would highly recommend blowing everyone's freaking mind by playing this remix of Loud Luxury’s Body mashed up with Chris Brown’s Freaky Friday.

This playlist truly has all of your hoco needs mashed into one perfect place. So crack a cold one, grab a cutie, hit shuffle on this playlist, and when they ask “Who’s on aux? This is straight FIRE”, you get to have all the bragging rights.
